On June 27, 2014 the grand opening of Garside Pool was well under way in Las Vegas. This brand new facility was built to replace the existing pool that was constructed in 1968 adjacent to Garside Junior High. The new aquatic facility features a zero-depth play area with play structure and slide; seven on-deck shade structures, a four lane lap pool with one meter Duraflex diving board, two 19 feet high water slides, locker rooms, showers, and an entry plaza complete with splash pad water feature.
Garside Pool was designed to embody Nevada's history and provide a fun, family-friendly, educational escape from the desert heat. Garside Pool is located in the heart of the City and offers swimming lessons for all ages, as well as water sports teams in synchronized swimming and water polo. Recreational swimming is available through reasonable daily and summer passes for individuals, families, and seniors.
Garside Pool facility was designed by LGA Architects and built by Core Construction Services of Nevada. The pool has state of the art equipment including two Lochinvar AQUAS™ heaters and one H2O Technologies Smart Pump Control System™. The AQUAS™ heater and Smart Pump Control System™ will help by keeping operating costs low by saving energy. The AQUAS™ heaters will also keep maintenance costs low due to the innovative design where the pool water is heated without ever entering direct-fired heat source. AQUAS™ heaters are the only pool heater on the market that offer this innovative type of heating.
